Do You See What I See...

Trinity probably doesn't see much behind this water bottle....all I keep seeing around is this white stuff....SNOW!

C'mon already....it's tennis season and there is snow on the ground??? I am so ready for spring weather and I can't wait to start getting a little sun! What I'm not ready for is this....

Teenager material....my girls are only 8 and 10 but I know I'm going to blink and they are going to be 14 and 16. We were grocery shopping the other day and Trinity asked Gene if he would buy her the TIGER BEAT magazine....remember those? Back in the day they would have Ricky Shroeder on the cover...haha! Not anymore...now it's Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift!

It's funny how much this world has changed for kids but yet it is still somewhat the same. I would cut out the pics from the magazine and put them all over my room also. I remember having Michael Jackson all over my closet door!

Kansas is my country girl and her walls consist of mostly animal stuff. I'm going to not like repainting their rooms when we put our house up for sale but it is important to me that they feel comfortable in their own bedrooms. They need a place to express their personalities!

Can you tell she likes horses?

She definitely thought I was a little strange (what else is new) when I came into her room to take pictures. I guess I invaded her privacy...yikes....more evidence we are getting closer to teenager times!! I deal with enough teenagers at work so I am not looking forward to when I have them at home also. There are ones that we do actually like :).....like BIG O.

His name is actually Oliver Stone and his mom is Sharon...cool huh! :) He is graduating this year and played basketball for my hubby and played football as well. He is going to continue his football career at Mary Hardin Baylor. We are so excited for him!! He is a great kid and we all will miss his prescence at All Saints'!

Well there is no snow on the ground today but the wind is making it absolutely miserable outside. Tennis practice should be lots of fun today! Spring weather should be right around the corner....I hope! Have a great day!

PRANKSTER

No, this is not what my office usually looks like. :) I went to physical therapy and came back to find this.... I am all about practical jokes and it looks like it was payback time. These papers were all over the place, even under my desk. That took a lot of work! We have a lot of fun in our department....we work a lot of hours so we have to have some time to be goofy. Guess I better go start planning my retaliation! :) Any ideas?

Haircuts and Date Night..these are a few of my favorite things

Yesterday was Gene's birthday so I took him to dinner and a movie to celebrate. Yep, got a sitter and everything. It doesn't happen very often but I enjoy it when it does and I think he does as well. We went to BJ's to eat and then saw Book of Eli at the Studio Movie Grill. Our plan was to eat there as well but we changed what movie we were going to see so we ate elsewhere....we did share a coke during the show....(insert Awww :)) I really liked the movie and was glad we made the change. When we got home, Gene took our sitter home and came back with a single rose for me. He said he really had a great time and he wanted to thank me for taking him out on his birthday (insert another Awww) He is getting so sweet in his OLD age...just kiddin.

Before our big date night, we took Kansas to get her haircut. I don't know about you but I love going to get my haircut!! Her hair is beautiful, long and curly but she just doesn't want to mess with it at all....that is the tomboy in her...just like her momma! So we ALL went....all 5 of us and watched her get about 8 inches chopped off. She loves it and is so excited!!

Here she is with her siblings....it's official....Logan is a dork!

She looks absolutely gorgeous and even though it won't be straight very often, it is going to be more manageable.....which means less time in the mornings for me! Can I get a Hallelujah!! :)
It is finally starting to warm up around here....I think it's in the upper 40's! There is still snow on the ground and I start tennis practice today....something is wrong with that picture. I hope everyone has a great week.
Many Blessings,

Try To Keep Up....

Gene with his Seniors (and of course Logan who sneaks in all the pictures)

I've already mentioned how busy basketball season has been for us....lots of late nights and going non-stop 7 days a week. I'm coaching a club volleyball team this year so that has added to the mayhem. We have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with some great kids and hopefully they have learned as much from us as we have from them. Despite staying so busy with our jobs, we still have to keep up with the kids and their activities.....like reading to Logan's class.

Of course Logan picked the book, "J is for Jump Shot" :) I enjoyed reading to his class and spending time with my son who is getting so big.

This week we had to head to Houston for the SPC Tournament. I had to leave early for an Athletic Director's meeting and the team buses left later. Below is what my house looked like when my boss came to pick me up. I was bummed that I couldn't stay and play in the snow with the kiddos. We got a total of 8-10 inches which is the most I ever remember seeing in all the years I've lived here.

Unfortunately Gene's best player got hurt in the 1st minute of their first game and the team wasn't the same after that. Their hope of winning the SPC Championship fell quickly. Everyone that is involved in sports knows that can happen to anyone at anytime.

Saints Varsity Basketball 2010

Since my parents and sisters live in Houston, we were able to have a little time with them. They met us at the Galleria for dinner and then the kiddos spent the night with them and my sister Mill.

My parents....AKA...Nana and Papa

The grandkids with their Nana and Papa.

My sister Jess and her boys weren't able to make it but hopefully we will see them soon.

My mom, my prego sister, Mill and me....can't wait until my niece Kendall is born!!!

Being goofy...

Day 2 of the tournament...you could tell everyone was getting a little tired and ready to be home. I'm very proud of our school. We are the smallest school in the conference and 3 out of 4 of our teams made the DI bracket of the tournament.

Family pic...in the gym and "Coach Gene" is being silly

We left Houston Saturday afternoon and our kids always think it is so cool to ride the charter bus. They have so much fun bugging the big kids and watching movies. Logan has a crush on Shea, one of the girls basketball players! :) He asked her to sit by him and she opted just to take a pic with him...ha!

She is one of my volleyball players and if she sticks with it, she will be playing in college one day. Lucky girl is coming to babysit tomorrow so I can take the hubby to dinner for his birthday. Logan is so excited! :)

One of the movies we watched on the bus ride home was the LeBron James story. It is a great film that shows how he ended up where he is now. I never knew this but he played with the same boys since he was 8 or 9 years old. They called each other the "Fab 5". They reminded me of Logan and his buddies that he plays basketball and baseball with....Dev, Cam, and Zack have been playing together since they were 4 or 5 years old. Logan had to miss his games this Saturday since he was in Houston but they didn't need him at all...they kicked butt! They love playing together and they always ask to hang out with each other when they aren't playing sports. If you like sports and haven't seen the LeBron story...you need to check it out. After watching it, Logan wanted to me to film and take pics of him trying to dunk. He asked me to put his video on YouTube....really?

Logan dunking his Sponge Bob ball.... you gotta start somewhere! :)

I apologize for this crazy post...I know it was all over the place. Basketball season is officially over and I start with my tennis team on Tuesday. I would appreciate if Mother Nature would get with my calendar.....tennis is no fun in 30 degree weather!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

Many Blessings,

Rodeo Fun....Yeehaw!

It's Rodeo time in Fort Worth and the Springer Family gave us their tickets for last night. Not only did we have VIP parking, our box seats could not have been any better. Gene had a meeting to go to so I was planning on taking the kids and I asked my friend Amanda if she wanted to go with her son, Cameron as well. Unfortunately Logan started running a fever and we found out Trinity didn't turn in her homework last week so she couldn't go :(.....that left Kansas and I. I was bummed we didn't go as a family but I was still excited to be able to take Kansas. She is my country girl and she loves horses and barrel racing.

Amanda and I before we left.....I look like a giant next to her! :)

I'm goin out with my boots on! :) You have to wear boots to the rodeo.....you can tell whose boot is on the left....my feet look gigantic! I'm going to have to stop hanging out with Amanda...haha...just kiddin girl!

The Amandas.....

Amanda, Cam and Kansas ready for the fun to begin....did I mention how awesome are seats were!

The parade of flags....Amanda and I are going to take those girls place next year....yep, they already asked us.....ok not really but that would be so cool!

The barrel racing....this picture was taken with my phone cause my camera died....of course. This was Kansas' favorite part of the night. She was at the edge of her seat. We also saw bronc riding, calf roping, bull riding, chuck wagon races and much more. It was such a fun night and I am so thankful to the Springers for giving me the great tickets. It was a great time!!

100th Day of School!!

Today is the 100th day of school at All Saints'. Logan woke up with a headache so I let him nap a little in my office before taking him to class. I know....I'm such a nice mom! :) I joined his class and some other moms and helped with the 100th day party. I love that we use any excuse to throw a party!! :)

We had finger painting activities.....

Ball fun....

And they had to write their name for 100 seconds.....

All the kiddos had a lot of fun and kept asking if they could keep celebrating all day long! It's hard to believe Logan has been in Kindergarten for 100 days. My little man is growing up!

On an unrelated note....below is a picture of his fat lip that he got from his game on Saturday. Doesn't he look so gangsta! :) I like that he is supporting my UTA Mavs!!

I get to take the kids to the Rodeo tonight!! Thank you Springer Family for the tickets. So stay tuned for the fun pictures. Can I get a yeehaw!!!
